Broward Health is a public, non-profit hospital system governed by the North Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioners, a seven- member district board appointed by the Governor. The Board of Commissioners appoints the President/CEO, Legal Counsel and Internal Auditor. The President/CEO leads Broward Health's Executive Team.

A Letter from Our CEO

We are pleased to unveil Broward Health’s new brand, including new mission and vision statements with a new logo.

Our new branding will help us elevate our organizational culture as champions for a healthier community.

These brand elements were created after significant research and strategic planning to best position us to meet the needs of our employees, patients and community today and well into the future.

In 2023, we celebrated our 85th anniversary and honored our legacy. In 2024, we look to the future, starting now with our new brand. I hope you are as excited as I am to be part of this new chapter for our healthcare system.

Community Needs Assessment

This assessment covers the period for 2021-2023.

As a part of IRS regulations, hospital organizations are required to conduct a community health needs assessment which serves as a guiding document for strategic planning. By utilizing the process of developing a Community Health Needs Assessment, North Broward Hospital District d/b/a Broward Health has positioned itself to address local health needs that are not being met.

  • Broward Health Medical Center is verified as a Level 1 Adult Trauma Center and Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons’ Committee on Trauma.
  • Broward Health Medical Center's Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program has been recertified nationally by American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation ( AACVPR). AACVPR is a multidisciplinary professional association comprised of health professionals who serve in the field of cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation.
  • CARF Award
    Broward Health North's Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit and Stroke program are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
  • Center of Distinction Award
    The Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at Broward Health Coral Springs has been awarded the Center of Distinction Award, and the Robert A. Warriner, III, MD Center of Excellence Award.
  • Patient Safety Excellence Award

    Broward Health Coral Springs received the Patient Safety Excellence Award from Healthgrades. The hospital was among 458 hospitals across the nation that placed among the top 10 percent of all short-term acute care hospitals reporting patient safety data.

    Broward Health Medical Center achieved 5 stars for its performance in Pacemaker Procedures from Healthgrades, the leading online resource for comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals.
  • SRTR Logo
    Broward Health Medical Center is one of only 10 hospitals in the country – and the only hospital in Florida – to receive a maximum score of five points in the outcome assessment for liver transplants by the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients.

    Broward Health North was voted Best Emergency Room by City News/Boca’s Best Magazine 2017 Reader’s Choice Award, June 2017.
  • Gold Seal of Approval
    Broward Health North received the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval® for Advanced Certification for Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement, February 2018.
  • Top Florida Cancer Centers Award
    The Comprehensive Cancer Care at Broward Health Medical Center was included in South Florida Business Journal’s 2017 list of Top Florida Cancer Centers.
  • Gold Seal of Approval
    Broward Health Coral Springs’ minimally-invasive colorectal surgery program achieved full Joint Commission re-accreditation with “ZERO” deficiencies and remains the one and only hospital in Florida with this achievement and one of two nationwide.
  • Center of Excellence 2017
    The Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at Broward Health Coral Springs has been awarded with the Center of Distinction Award for the 9th year in a row, and the Robert A. Warriner, III, MD Center of Excellence Award for the 7th consecutive year.
