Broward Health is a public, non-profit hospital system governed by the North Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioners, a seven-member district board appointed by the Governor. The Board of Commissioners appoints the President/CEO, Legal Counsel and Internal Auditor. The President/CEO leads Broward Health's Executive Team.

Community Needs Assessment
This assessment covers the period for 2021-2023.
As a part of IRS regulations, hospital organizations are required to conduct a community health needs assessment which serves as a guiding document for strategic planning. By utilizing the process of developing a Community Health Needs Assessment, North Broward Hospital District d/b/a Broward Health has positioned itself to address local health needs that are not being met.

Broward Health Medical Center is verified as a Level 1 Adult Trauma Center and Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons’ Committee on Trauma.

Broward Health Medical Center's Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program has been recertified nationally by American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation ( AACVPR). AACVPR is a multidisciplinary professional association comprised of health professionals who serve in the field of cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation.
